Yikes! I can't believe three weeks have passed since I last posted. It must have been a little bout of 'I'm-so-sick-of this-freakin-cold-weather-and-snow-that-I-can't-even-stand-myself' illness that's been going around! Okay-- it's still cold but at least the sun's out. So I'm back amongst the living.
Spent the last 2 days at the Sewing and Quilt Expo. I was signed up for a class with Carol Cypher on Hand Felted Surface Design and Embellishment for yesterday, but apparently she's teaching in Australia instead. Can't say that I blame her. Let's see -- Cleveland in March or travel Down Under...hmmmm. Tough choice...NOT!
The replacement class was on making wet-felted vessels with teacher Fran Steinbock. Not at all what I would have chosen, but the class was wonderful and lots of fun and I'm glad that I had the opportunity to take it. The vessels were felted around a deflatable ball and the main felting was done by bouncing the ball hard on the floor for a half hour or so. Can you picture the classroom?
Here's my vessel. I think I must make more...
And the inside.
