Some art cloth I'm working on

Finally putting all of those big silk screens to work!

three layers of screening

lost something in the washout, but not too bad

Still working on this one -- not sure where it's going yet

Love this one, because it reminds me of this......

New mural at P.J. McIntyre's

I did another mural for P.J. McIntyre's last month, sponsored by Jameson Irish Whiskey

Here are some working photos. Although this was done on a flat wall, they wanted the look of old bricks on this section of wall. The first layer is primer and then I made a rubber stamp and mixed up a bucket of various textured acrylic mediums to lay on the faux bricks.

Textured background
Next I painted the Jameson label background color and painted in the 'mortar' in various shades of greenish/gray.

The area is about 9 feet high and 12-13 feet wide

Next was painting in the bricks over the mortar.

Adding bricks

Brick detail
Then I painted the label from the bottle

Thought I was finished here.
But it was too pristine and Pat asked me to come back and make it look old and beat up -- like the bricks

Finished!

Resistance is futile

You will be assimilated by the cuteness...

Comfort quilt for Gerri

Around Thanksgiving, my MIL was diagnosed with lung cancer and I wanted to make her a comfort quilt. I actually got it done before her treatments started!

I wanted something bright and colorful, but not too sickly sweet (coz she's so not that kind of a gal at all), so I decided to finally dip into my snow dyes. I know, right?
I cut several yards into strips and mixed them up and started sewing them all together.

Mostly random.

Till I had two large panels like this

Here was the really hard part...cutting it all up again...on the diagonal

Here are the new strips on the design wall

And here is the end result with some more snow dyed fabric for a border.

I loved the finished quilt, but all that sewing on the bias was a bitch!!  I might have to make one for myself...

Bugsy...who rescued who?

My too-cute little boy..
Helping me with sewing...NOT
He's totally sweet and spoiled, my constant shadow and protector. He came into my life at the perfect time. His only job is to keep me sane and smiling and he's REALLY good at that!
I saw a bumper sticker today that had a paw print and text on it was "Who rescued who?"
Ain't that the truth!
